From the corridors of MIEMR Medical College & Research, Latur, where Dr. Amol Nagvekar embarked on his medical journey, to the sophisticated training grounds of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, his path has been marked by relentless pursuit of knowledge and excellence. Dr. Nagvekar, an alumnus of KIMS, forged his expertise in Diagnostic Radiology, driven by a deep commitment to advance patient care.
It was at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, where Dr. Nagvekar’s passion for Interventional Radiology took flight. Here, he honed his skills and expertise, completing a Fellowship in this challenging field. His quest for knowledge also led him to Alfried Krupp Hospital, Essen, Germany, where he further specialized in Interventional Neuroradiology.
Dr. Nagvekar’s professional journey is a testament to his dedication. As a Senior Consultant Interventional Radiologist at Infinity Endovascular Clinic, he has skillfully navigated over a thousand cases in vascular and non-vascular interventions. His tenure at Fortis Hospital and as an Assistant Professor at Tata Memorial Centre highlights his multifaceted role as a clinician, innovator, and educator.
In teaching future radiologists at Tata Memorial Centre, Dr. Nagvekar has not only shared his knowledge but has also imbibed the importance of empathy and innovative thinking in his students. Complex Case Studies

    Posteriorly Projecting Right Terminal ICA (C7) Aneurysm

    Treatment: Flow diverter. Case: Aneurysm located in the right terminal ICA (C7) region. Outcome: Effective intervention with stabilization and reduced risk of rupture.

    Arterio-Venous Malformation

    Treatment: Glue-lipiodol embolization. Case: 31-year-old female with mild swelling and pain in the paranasal infraorbital region. Outcome: Successful embolization with feeders from right facial and internal maxillary arteries.

    Bleeding Through Mouth due to Pseudoaneurysm

    Treatment: Selective coil embolization. Case: Patient on CTRT for tongue carcinoma experienced sudden heavy oral bleeding. Outcome: Complete blockage of the bleeding vessel was successfully achieved.

    ICA Pseudoaneurysm Post-Op Treatment

    Treatment: Coiling of ICA. Case: 16-year-old male with ICA pseudoaneurysm. Outcome: Discharged without neurological deficits, successful intervention.

    Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma

    Treatment: Embospheres and coil embolization. Case: 50-year-old with nasopharyngeal angiofibroma. Outcome: Safe pre-operative embolization, 30th successful case.

    Pelvic AVM Embolization

    Treatment: Embolization using pressure cooker technique. Case: Young female with pelvic AVM. Outcome: Total exclusion of AVM on final angiogram.

    Hematuria from Pseudoaneurysm

    Treatment: Coil and glue embolization. Case: 75-year-old with traumatic pseudoaneurysm. Outcome: Urine cleared after 48 hours, successful treatment.

    Genicular Nerve Radiofrequency Ablation

    Treatment: RFA for bilateral knee osteoarthritis. Case: 60-year-old female with severe knee pain. Outcome: Successful pain relief, patient discharged the same day.

    Radiofrequency Ablation for HCC

    Treatment: RFA under CT guidance for liver HCC. Case: 65-year-old male with 105 liver lesions. Outcome: Complete ablation, patient cured and discharged the same day.

    Severe Hemoptysis in COPD Patient

    Treatment: Bronchial Artery Embolization (BAR). Case: 78-year-old male with severe hemoptysis. Outcome: Discharged the same day post successful BAR.

    Hematemesis and Hepatic Encephalopathy

    Treatment: PARTO with plug and glue embolization. Case: 68-year-old female with large fundal varix. Outcome: Effective intervention.

    SMA Pseudoaneurysm Management

    Treatment: Stent assisted coiling. Case: A 58-year-old female with a ruptured pseudoaneurysm of the superior mesenteric artery. Outcome: Successful treatment, patient discharged without complications.
